Golden Bears Events
High power rifle matches are held on the third Sunday of each month at the Angeles Shooting Ranges. Club meetings are held immediately after the conclusion of each match. During Club matches we shoot 50 shots for record using targets with reduced rings to simulate at 100 yards the 200, 300, and 600 yard distances of the full National Match course. NRA matches are 80 shots for record on the same targets with scores and targets turned in to the NRA for official scoring. John Garand matches are shot with the M1 Garand rifle or equivalent with 50 shots for record all on the SR-1 target at 100 yards.

Southern California Golden Bears Highpower Rifle Club match. Held at Angeles Shooting Ranges. Monthly club meeting held after the match.

- Highpower Rifle match held at the Lopez Canyon fullbore range. Range is 200 yards with target carriers and pits. Lunch with the Gopher Flats members is generally available after the match.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all Golden Bears members and prospective members.
RANGE: The Match is fired at 100 Yards
START TIME: Set-up beginning at 7:45 AM. Match begins at 8:30 AM.
COURSE OF FIRE: All Club matches are 50 shots for record. NRA matches are 80 shots for record and are turned in for official documentation.
STAGE 1: 10 (20 for NRA) shots Standing Slow fire + 2 sighting in shots, 12 minutes, SR-1 target.
STAGE 2: 10 (20 for NRA) shots Rapid Fire + 2 sighters, Sitting or Kneeling, 60 Seconds, SR-1 target.
STAGE 3: 10 (20 for NRA) shots Rapid Fire + 2 sighters, Prone, 70 Seconds, SR-21 target.
STAGE 4: 20 shots Slow Fire Prone + 2 sighters, 22 Minutes, MR-31 target.
ENTRY FEE: $14.00 includes all individual matches, aggregate tournament score, and all range fees.
RIFLES & SIGHTS: Must be Center Fire .22 cal or larger, Iron Sights (CA legal AR15, M1 Garand, 1903 Springfield, Military Mauser, etc.)
RULES: Current NRA Highpower Rifle Rules shall govern the match.
SQUADDING: Starts at 7:45 AM with assignments by the Match Supervisor at the far right end of the rifle/pistol/shotgun line.
SCORING: NRA matches are scored by alternate relays. Club matches are self scored.
